How nodewick Clips works

What happens between a long video and a Short that holds.

Here's everything nodewick Clips does, step by step, and why each step is there.

1 · Finding the moment

Every possible clip, scored.

The video is transcribed on your computer, then every sentence-aligned stretch from 20 to 60 seconds is scored. The swipe decision happens in the first few seconds, so the opening counts the most.

  • ✓Pace — fast talk holds attention
  • ✓Energy — laughs, raised voices, music swells
  • ✓Hook words — the language that makes people stay
  • ✓Dead air — penalised hard
  • ✓Payoff — a peak that isn't buried at the end

2 · Editing for retention

Edits made to stop the swipe.

  • ✓Cold open — the hottest 2–3 seconds play first, then the story starts
  • ✓Jump cuts — every pause between words removed
  • ✓Punch-ins — subtle zooms at sentence breaks so the frame never sits still
  • ✓Captions — big, word-by-word, current word highlighted, for sound-off viewers
  • ✓Hook text — a headline on screen for the first three seconds
  • ✓Loudness — matched to platform standards so you're never quieter than the next video
3 · Learning

It gets better every week.

Every clip records the choices behind it: length, layout, caption size, title style, cold open or not, posting hour. Two days after posting, it pulls the views and average watch time and works out which choices are winning.

Most new clips use the winners, and a share deliberately test the alternatives, so it keeps improving instead of locking onto one early fluke. Before your own data exists, it starts from what's working for other channels in your niche.

4 · Rights-first

No legal headaches, by design.

nodewick Clips only works from sources you're allowed to use, and it records why for each one:

  • ✓Clipping campaigns — creators who pay you to clip them, with your campaign link kept as proof
  • ✓Public-domain film — only films old enough to be public domain in the US, and you approve each one
  • ✓Your own footage — anything you made or licensed

It never downloads or reposts content you don't have rights to, and it never gets around platform posting rules.
